Welcome to Virtual Pooh

If you came here expecting to find the old Virtual Pooh website, Pooh apologizes for any inconvenience. It was getting a bit long in the tooth, for one thing. More importantly, Pooh set it up primarily to learn and test new skills, not as a production site focused on providing content.

The old site served its purpose quite well. When the old PostNuke morphed into the new and improved Zikula, the old site had been hacked near to death as a side effect of Pooh's playing, and upgrading the old site to preserve the old content looked like it might be quite a challenge. As it turned out, though, upgrading the core to Zikula worked reasonably well despite my inadequately documented hacks. But almost all the content was in aging modules that don't play so well with Zikula 1.x - and I wasn't up for multiple iterations of trying to make a square peg fit in a round hole.

Which brings us to this nice clean and virginal install. This time around, I plan to focus more on presentation and content here on Virtual Pooh, so I hope my family and friends will return betimes to see what I have to offer. My development will switch to a localhost install that requires no internet connection to work with, and is quick and easy to duplicate, dump or restore.
